Bible Works 9

There’s some good Bible Software platforms out there, one I use regularly on my PC is Bible Works and I’ve just loaded up BW9. It is gucci to the max!

Among the new physical features, I especially like the “Fourth Window” which is effectively the old “Analysis Window” split into two.  It is now possible to have the notes from the NET Bible, or CNTTS Apparatus, or Metzger’s Textual Commentary come up through the verse tab in one of the two analysis windows.

Something to make textual critics drool, is that the “mss” tab includes reference to transcriptions to seven major Greek manuscripts connected with images that can be loaded up and enlarged. The transcriptions can be brought up like any Greek text or Bible version and are fully searchable!

There are also new English translations like the NIV10 and Common English Bible.

Other products that can be brought with BW9 include the ESV Study Bible. I couldn’t live without having BDAG in my analysis window!

It’s a great product, very useful for anyone doing original language study of the Bible.
