What made me smile this week while my laptop burned a hole through my thighs.  For you, my fine Netizens of the interwebz…

—-Do you want to be a successful parent, mompreneur or entrepreneur?  If so, read this great post from Get Busy Living about what character trait is absolutely necessary for success.

—-One of the most beautifully laid out arguments for why we should all unplug for a couple of weeks each summer.  And why I decided to go a lot slower with blogging.  If you are considering taking a break from anything –blogging, television, facebook, etc. read this fascinating post from Danielle LaPorte’s White Hot Truth blog.  You’ll be assured you are doing the exact right thing for your brain and your sanity.

—-I found a hilarious blogger the other day.  She tests out pins she finds on pinterest and reports back on her blog.  I found this post on her testing out a t shirt infinity scarf incredibly funny.

—-I decided to jump on the Tumblr bandwagon while also documenting my journey into wearing my hair natural for a year.  I’ll be blogging a hair pic every other day or so on Mixed HAIRitage. Here’s my latest post about why wearing my hair natural feels like a giant experiment into seeing just how uncomfortable & unpretty I can possibly feel day after day after day.

Do you think this cute little thing is indeed cute or just plain weird?  I must admit, I’m taken by this little bearded, baby girl!  But then, I have always had a soft spot for monkeys, apes & chimps.  I think that makes me as weird as this photo, but I’m optimistic that it serves to make me fascinating. =)

I’m kind of hoping that when I’m 54 I look a lot like my own version of the pic on the left.  Photoshop recreations is why many women are causing themselves to barf in toilets.  I wish it was okay with the world for her to look like herself instead of the most perfected version.  This makes me want to grow old gracefully.  I want to love every wrinkle, every roll and every bag under each eye.

I love our First Lady.  She seems so down to earth, so fashionable.  I like to think that we’d best buds if we knew each other.
