Before you read today’s hair-raising adventure you may want to catch up with yesterday’s post.
By the way, Happy 4th of July everyone! I guess I could of wrote some really insightful blog about America & how we won our freedom from the Brits but… I’m not in the mood. I’m kind of over it actually. Especially the fireworks part.
Anyway, back to the whole hairy story…
A couple days ago I wanted to take the kinky twists out but I was feeling really lazy about going through & unraveling each one.

A bright idea hit me! What if I just cut them out at the base and went SUPER SHORT for awhile? No, not ideal but you know my motto when it comes to hair: it ALWAYS 100% of the time grows back, so why not live a little?
So, I did it. I cut them off at the base & my hair was about 3-4 inches long. I washed, blew it out & started cutting.
And cutting. And cutting. And cutting.
The more I cut, the funner it got. At one point, it hit me: what if I don’t like this when I’m done?
The answer was quite simple: wear a cute wig for awhile. I have two. In fact, I wore this one for much of last summer. Do you like it?

Once it was all said & done it looks like this:
I’m not crazy about these pictures, but overall I mildly like the style enough to hold off on wearing the wigs for a few weeks until I see what becomes of my hair as it gets a little bit longer.
I do feel like I look A LOT different. All day I kept catching myself in the mirror & thinking “what/who?… oh, it’s just me with super short hair.”
I’m hoping I can eventually make it look like Halle Berry’s when I get an ACTUAL PROFESSIONAL to cut it. Like this:
No worries everyone, I WILL NOT be getting a perm. I want the freedom to swivel back & forth between straight & my natural curls.
And then I’m hoping I can copycat her again & make it look like this:
And then, this:

And then finally ~ ba ba buuuuhhhh ~ I’m hoping by later this year it will be grown out enough for me to rock the Rihanna look when she had the mohawk but it was a schooch longer in the back:

So, that about covers my hair plans for the year of 2010! 🙂
Any big hairy plans for you???
