It’s Fall and maybe for the 1st time in my life, I’m enjoying it.  Mostly, through the eyes of a certain 4 year old who loves raking, leaf piles, leaf blowers & bally-hoo. Who wouldn’t want to be thrown into a big pile of leaves? Who wouldn’t want to wrestle your Daddy in a big pile of leaves? Or be tickled in a big pile of leaves? Or run from the leaf blower monster? Or run from your Mama with... Read more

To be fair, I should say up front that as actors go, I love me some Jamie Foxx & Robert Downey Jr.  And fine, the two of them are at least 1/2 the reason why I really enjoyed this movie.  Besides each of them adding their own unique subtle humor, they acted their little hearts out in some beautiful & gut wrenching scenes. It has the potential for being a bit drawn out however it’s hard to say since, we... Read more

On Monday, October 19,  I went in for what would hopefully be my last pregnancy check-up.  It was the day before his October 20th due date.  In the two weeks previous, I had dilated to 1cm.  Over the course of the next week I doubled my efforts by getting to 2 cm!  Based on my size and an eerie suspicion I knew full well when I went in I was going to be dilated to at least 5 cm. You... Read more

Ransom got the H1N1 vaccination today & the flu vaccination last week.  Every time we go anywhere Dave is constantly slathering Ran’s hands with hand sanitizer, has taught him to use his shirt to open doors & won’t let him touch anything if were out. I’m a little less cautious than that, mostly because I don’t want to allow myself to become terrified about all this. But I must admit, I decided not to take Rhys to Church this past... Read more

If you haven’t read it, there’s an awesome book, The Five Love Languages which helps you identify what makes you feel the most loved.  In turn, you identify how to better speak the “love language” of those you love.  It could be words of affirmation, quality time, shared time, receiving gifts, acts of service or physical touch. For example, since my top “love language” is receiving gifts, I’m always quick to give my husband gifts but it’s just about last... Read more

Our little Reesey Bear has intermediate jaundice. 🙁  It’s not serious and were taking steps to get him all better but in the meantime, our little man is “suffering” from extreme fatigue.  He’s been asleep since Tuesday.  He sleeps while he eats.  He’ll have his eyes open for 3 minutes and as you talk to him they’ll droop shut as if it say, “this world is just too much for me.” Of course the nice thing for me is that... Read more

Poor Ransom.  First the poor kid has to share his 4 yr. old birthday (yesterday) with meeting his new baby brother who was coming home for the 1st time.  And then, horror of all horrors, Mama didn’t make time to celebrate her precious 1st-born on his actual birthday on her blog  🙁 Last year in this beautiful season in W. MI I took these pictures for Ransom’s 3 yr. old photo shoot.  Of course, I had been meaning to do... Read more

Another weekend, another project.  I have been in heavy nesting mode (and I think I like it).  Actually, I hope it never goes away!  I have accomplished so much with this endless desire to clean, organize, toss out & rethink our entire homes awful storage use. Last weekend, a friend helped us go through & reorganize all of our kitchen cupboards.  The sweet thing even went through & cleaned every surface.  Yesterday, my glorious mother’n’law spent all day defrosting the... Read more
