I have this friend in my life, “J”. She’s an amazing Lebanese goddess. She never ceases to amaze me & though she is usually apologetic for being “rough on me,” it is one of the things I value most about our friendship. Anytime I’ve tempted to throw it all away, there is “J,” setting me straight. Today, as I loathed on about how I’m getting behind in school, perhaps even sabotaging my ability to finish well she said... Read more
Man on Wire, I admit I had only heard of this little film because it was nominated for an Academy Award & won! It also took home the BAFTA & 22 other prestigious film & documentary awards. It’s about a french dude who illegally strung a 200 ft. wire across the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center -back in the 70’s- and proceeded to dance, run, even salute (!) and walk across it 8 times in 45 minutes.... “Welcome to week 8 of pregnancy! You may begin experiencing ricocheting emotions as your hormones fluctuate wildly…” a friendly email reminds me this morning of what I all ready know very well, thank you very much. Yesterday was a particularly wild emotional ride. One worth sharing actually. The day started with me realizing my awful cat, Putty had peed on my swimsuit cover up which is the reason why my whole luggage had wreaked for 5 days. I... Read more

Also, I’ve been working with a web designer who is making me a fantastic personalized blog & I realized since I’ve been gone that I’m sort of sick of thinking about it! It’s been a... Read more
If you don’t mind which hotel you stay in, try priceline. I got a NICE hotel in Chicago a few weeks back for $20/night. And for my work trip coming up I tried priceline & got a NICE hotel in San Diego for $60/night! So, in a few nights I’ll be here… I was hesitant given it’s mid-terms weeks, I’m leaving the hubby/son, it’s 5 days, I’m tired, etc. etc…. well after getting this mambo of a deal &... Read more
This subject strikes me as particularly controversial, so a preface seems in order. Let me first say, I do not think it is wrong to keep a 1st trimester pregnancy a secret. I do not particularly agree with it, but I also believe in the great mantra “to each her own.” This blog is meant to explore this particularly American phenomenon. As with anything else we adopt simply because “everyone else is,” I think we should think critically about... Read more
A funny forward I got today from my friend, targetshopper Economy Notice Due to recent budget cuts and the cost of electricity, gas and oil, as well as current market conditions and the continued decline of the U.S. economy, The Light at the End of the Tunnel has been turned off. –We apologize for the inconvenience– Read more
Do you ever find it exhausting to argue on the internet? The other day I read on a randomly found blog that the blogger said something I really disagreed with. It was a public blog in a format open for comments. So, naturally being me, I responded -not in an attacking way- that I disagreed with what she said & that she should consider changing her perspective on a certain issue. Well, well, well. She wrote me back, privately... Read more
