Don’t Talk About Money!

Did you know that the Bible references more scriptures about money than it does regarding faith and prayer combined? Over 2,350 scripture references can be found about financial matters. Does that mean money is more important that faith or prayer…of course not. But it does mean that we shouldn’t hide from what the Bible says about money. In fact, 15% of what Jesus spoke on was about money and possessions.

I can’t wait to write more about what he says regarding money and possessions, but if I had to say one thing to sum up his view I think we could say that Jesus wanted us to know there is a fundamental connection between our faith and the attitudes and actions we have about money and possessions.

Let’s not keep from talking about money as Christians – let’s become experts in how to manage our finances. Just think about the kind of witness we can be as Christians when others ask us how we manage to tithe, give to others, budget, pay off debt, and save for the future. We can’t afford NOT to talk about money!
