Giuliana Rancic Says Breast Cancer Was Part of God’s Plan for Her

Although I never liked Giuliana Rancic‘s style of red carpet interviews, I’ve become more and more impressed with the brave and classy way she has handled her breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. In an interview with Glamour, Giuliana and her husband Bill Rancic talk about how they supported each other and strengthened their marriage during Giuliana’s illness. One of the topics that comes up is how Giuliana believes that it’s her duty as a public figure to talk about her cancer and raise awareness.

“We’ve been given this incredible platform, and we think it was for a reason. I truly believe that,” she told the magazine. “When I got my job at E!, I was the thirty-ninth person who auditioned. I wasn’t the prettiest, I wasn’t the smartest, I wasn’t the most talented. And I always wondered why I got the job. Now I think God knew I wouldn’t be a selfish little cow with this platform, and I’d try to do something with it.”
