Asher Gelzer-Govatos graduated summa cum laude from The University of Tulsa with a B.A. in Philosophy. A high school teacher for several years, he is
entering the PhD program in Comparative Literature at Washington University in St. Louis in the Fall. He is the founder of the culture site The Erstwhile Philistine, and has written for outlets including Paste, Christianity Today, and Oklahoma Magazine.
