Time for yet another article based on my interview with Scott Derrickson, director of The Exorcism of Emily Rose.
This one was written for ChristianWeek, and has been re-posted at CanadianChristianity.com. Due to the paper’s long-ish lead time — long-ish for a newspaper, that is — I wrote this article within hours of seeing the film, but over a week before the film came out; so this article does not take into account the surprisingly politicized nature of some of the secular reviews that came out.
I’ve got another couple articles on this film in the works, but they were written for magazines that have even longer lead times, so they won’t be available for another month or so.
Meanwhile, I’ve got another item up at the Canadian site: namely my review of the new Amy Grant reality-TV show Three Wishes, which premieres on NBC tomorrow night. One thing I don’t mention is that I’m still figuring out what to make of the official website‘s repeated reference to the “deserving people” who are the beneficiaries of Grant’s corporate-sponsored benevolence.
