Based on the book Black Autumn by Jeff Kirkham and Jason Ross — and directed by Ben Smallbone (Priceless, Steve McQueen: American Icon) — it’s a family survival drama that takes place at an elaborate prepper compound known as “The Homestead” after Los Angeles is hit by a nuclear attack.
The film also stars Neal McDonough (Minority Report, Band of Brothers) as Ian Ross, the guy who owns the compound; Dawn Olivieri (1883, Bright) as Ian’s wife Jenna; Olivia Sanabia as their daughter Claire; and Bailey Chase (Saving Grace, Longmire) as Jeff Eriksson, a former Green Beret who takes a job as head of security at the compound.
