If only his movies were so easy to delete… January 14, 2006

We all know that Uwe Boll makes crappy movies. Alone in the Dark (2005) was easily one of the trashiest movies I have ever seen — though it was also one of last year’s more enjoyable moviegoing experiences, simply because the theatre was packed with champion hecklers. The evening couldn’t have been more fun if we had all remembered to bring tomatoes and throw ’em at the screen. More recently, the critics have savaged BloodRayne (2005), and the poster for In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale looks kind of goofy. (Burt Reynolds in a fantasy film…?)

But somehow I am still surprised to learn that Uwe is this stupid. Reports the Associated Press:

With one keystroke, Uwe Boll accidentally deleted the only script for his upcoming film “Seed” from his computer.

But, he told The Associated Press, hes managed to recreate a third of the script so far and is happier with the rewrite than the original.

“With one keystroke”? Does this guy not keep any back-ups!?

FWIW, down at the bottom of the story, John Rhys-Davies — known for his roles in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), The Lord of the Rings (2001-2003) and many, many other films — compares Boll to George Lucas. And I think he means it in a good way.
