What is Hoodwinked director Cory Edwards up to these days, you ask? Today, he posted an item at his blog saying, among other things, that he and a couple of his colleagues have just finished a rewrite on the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie:
The job has been stressful, since the studio had already started rendering the movie and finishing it for its March 2007 release. The release and all marketing tie-ins were completely locked in stone, even if the movie wasn’t! Production kept moving ahead as we wrote, which was NOT ideal (imagine hiking across an ice flow as it drifts and moves beneath you). This kind of process created a lot of obstacles, such as fitting new lines to existing lip sync and negotiating new animation for certain scenes. But I think that ultimately, we are proud of the work we did and it’s going to be a fun movie.
FWIW, I saw the original movie when it came out back in 1990, and have never felt the urge to see either of the sequels or any of the TV shows. Come to that, I have no urge to see this movie either, though Edwards’ involvement does pique my curiosity.
