Jeffrey Overstreet has seen Kingdom of Heaven, and he doesn’t like it — partly because he thinks the film says “righteousness” is all about “good deeds”. While this would obviously be an incomplete understanding of righteousness, I wouldn’t expect anything terribly deep from a film made by a self-professed agnostic, and in fact, I don’t necessarily have that big a problem with this emphasis on “good deeds”, based on my reading of Romans 2 in particular; so I have posted some comments to this effect at Jeff’s blog.
