1. The first five pages of Star Trek: Countdown, the comic-book prequel to the upcoming Star Trek movie, have been posted online. Interestingly, the given stardate is 64333.4, which would seem to place this prequel eight years after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis (2002). — TrekMovie.com
2. The Chronicles of Narnia producer Mark Johnson says it may have been a mistake to make Prince Caspian “the second one” in the movie series: “‘Prince Caspian’ is one of the lesser-liked books. We also made a slightly more adult, darker story, and we shouldn’t have.” Anonymous “sources” are also claiming now that Disney pushed the film’s release date into the summer against Walden’s wishes, but at the time, Disney said it was moving the film to avoid a clash with Walden’s other Christmas movie, The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep (2007). — Variety

4. Sam Raimi is apparently toying with making Morbius the vampire one of the villains in his next Spider-Man film: “I like that combination of superhero plus supernatural.” That’s interesting, because all of Spidey’s big-screen villains to date have basically been science experiments gone awry, with the possible exception of Venom, who at least came from outer space and thus had a sort of sci-fi feel. So would a vampire feel like he “belonged” in the same world as all these other characters? Then again, Wikipedia indicates that Morbius himself got his powers through scientific means — because at the time he was created, supernatural vampires were forbidden by the Comics Code Authority. Hmmm. Anyway, I am reminded of Jon Favreau’s concern about mixing “tech-based” heroes like Iron Man and Captain America with supernatural characters like Thor in The Avengers. — MTV Splash Page
