IF TRUMP WINS THIS WILL BE THE EVERYDAY NEW “NORMAL” September 20, 2016

July 17, 2014: Eric Garner (New York)

(YouTube) moments later Eric Garner would be dead…

There are good cops, many in fact most. But there is no way to duck the reality that black men and women in America rightly feel threatened every time a black man or woman is killed by a cop for little to no reason. If Trump wins, these aberrations will become the norm. Trump’s racist idea of “law and order” will empower brutality.  Just wait for the Trump roundups of “illegals.”

Will “birther” liar TRUMP take us to full-blown fascism or can we work together to elect Hillary Clinton to pull us back from the brink?

As Hillary Clinton spoke out on Tuesday about the death of Terence Crutcherin Tulsa, Oklahoma, arguing that the epidemic of police officers killing unarmed black people should be recognized as “intolerable.”

On Tuesday’s episode of “The Steve Harvey Morning Show,” the former secretary of state and current Democratic presidential nominee said she wanted to speak “directly to white people” and let them know that “this is not who we are.”

“How many times do we have to see this in our country?” Clinton said. “In Tulsa, an unarmed man with his hands in the air. This is just unbearable. And it needs to be intolerable.”

“Maybe I can, by speaking directly to white people, say, look, this is not who we are,” she continued. “We have got to do everything possible to improve policing, to go right at implicit bias.”

Tulsa police released video on Monday of last week’s shooting. Crutcher, 40 ― a father and student who sang at church every week ― was shot and killed by a white officer after his vehicle stalled in the middle of a roadway.

Key Findings:

As of July 2016, Police killed at least 136 black people in 2016, according to a project by the Guardian that tracks police killings in America. Philando Castile became the latest addition to the list Wednesday night after an officer shot him dead. In 2015….

  • Police killed at least 102 unarmed black people in 2015, nearly twice each week. (See which police departments were responsible for these deaths)

  • Nearly 1 in 3 black people killed by police in 2015 were identified as unarmed, though the actual number is likely higher due to underreporting

  • Unarmed black people were killed at 5x the rate of unarmed whites in 2015

  • Only 10 of the 102 cases in 2015 where an unarmed black person was killed by police resulted in officer(s) being charged with a crime, and only 2 of these deaths (Matthew Ajibade and Eric Harris) resulted in convictions of officers involved. Only 1 of 2 officers convicted for their involvement in Matthew Ajibade’s death received jail time. He was sentenced to 1 year in jail and allowed to serve this time exclusively on weekends. Deputy Bates, who killed Eric Harris, will be sentenced May 31.
