Some say the famous Republican former Governor of California paved the way for the rise of Trump.  In fact, they are old friends. However, former communications director Rob Stutzman, said “Arnold… tapped into a populist rage, if you will, but he had a positive message and was inaugurated with a 72 percent approval rating. He never denigrated people in the way that Trump has.”

Politico reports that “Schwarzenegger campaigned for Ohio Gov. John Kasich at a time when the moderate wing of the party tried to mobilize to stop Trump from securing the nomination.”
