
We live in strange times, don’t we? The #BlackLivesMatter crowd got furious when the hashtag #AllLivesMatter showed up, believing the word “all” unnecessarily denigrates minorities. (Columbia professor Carla Shedd, says using it is “erasing the vulnerability of and dehumanization of black people.”) However, some celebs have dared to use #AllLivesMatter in their communications, so the #BLM crowd makes them pay.

The R&B singer trended on Twitter after doing this:

Eventually, she apologized by claiming not to understand hashtags:
“I must not be up to date with the hashtags. And more for praying & conversation. there’s no debate here #BlackLivesMatter. I stand by that. She added, “Apologies to anyone I offended. I was simply encouraging people to care for one another and help make this matter better together.”
