Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke has had his hands filled with all the violence in his city.

This weekend chaos ensued after two Milwaukee police officers stopped a couple of people in a car because the vehicle was behaving suspiciously. During the stop, they people in the car ran away from the police. During the resulting chase, twenty-three year-old Sylville Smith, armed with a handgun, was killed by police. the death. Last night, in what the media has dubbed the “night of shame,” looting, fire, and destruction of property occurred.

Milwaukee County Sheriff Clarke spoke out about this on FoxBusiness:

“The social order in Milwaukee totally collapsed on Saturday night,” he said. “When tribal behavior takes order, the law of the jungle takes the rule of law.”

Sheriff Clarke said the police officer was wearing a body camera and even though he didn’t see the video, the Milwaukee Mayor confirmed the footage showed the suspect was armed.

“I noticed that people are leaving that out when they said police shot a man,” he said. “They shot an armed individual this time so it doesn’t give the cop-haters the high ground on this sort of thing.”
