CNN caught editing key — and very violent — detail from speech of Milwaukee criminal’s sister August 17, 2016

Video posted on French Revolution yesterday clearly shows the sister of Sylville Smith (shot by police over the weekend) encouraging violent protesters to  “take that sh-t to the suburbs, burn that sh-t down.” But if anyone was watching CNN in the past 24 hours — anyone? — you were told it was a “call to peace.”

Here’s how they worked the magic. CNN used an extremely short clip of the sister passionately shouting, “Don’t bring the violence here and the ignorance here” with correspondent Ana Cabrera saying the woman was “calling for peace.” The on-screen graphics displayed, “Victim’s Sister: ‘Don’t bring the violence here,’” furthering the narrative.

From Newsbusters:

However, CNN left out an entire paragraph of context. The sister’s profanity-laced tirade was anything but a call for peace:

“Burnin down sh-t ain’t going to help nothin! Y’all burnin’ down sh-t we need in our community. Take that sh-t to the suburbs. Burn that sh-t down! We need our sh-t!  We need our weaves. I don’t wear it. But we need it.”

The deception wasn’t confined to this one clip, either. CNN’s website also colored the narrative to make readers believe residents were trying to “heal” from all of the violence and again claimed Smith’s sister was condemning the violent actions of protesters. Cabrera has since corrected the false reporting, saying, “We shorthanded sister’s quote. Unintentionally gave the impression she was calling for peace everywhere. Correction.”

That’s the understatement of the year!
