1. Bill Clinton
Bill Clinton was born William Jefferson Blythe III on August 19, 1946. His mother Virginia Cassidy was married to a traveling salesman William Jefferson Blythe Jr. Bill was their only child. Three months before Bill was born, his father died in a car accident. Four years later, Virginia married Roger Clinton Sr., a car dealer. The family moved from Hope, Arkansas to Hot Springs. When Bill was a teenager, his father made the adoption official, and he became William Jefferson Clinton, future president of the United States.
President Clinton once said, “We must work tirelessly to make sure that every boy and girl in America who is up for adoption has a family waiting to reach him or her. This is a season of miracles, and perhaps there is no greater miracle than finding a loving home for a child who needs one.”
