4. God-avoidance causes us to blame one another.
When Adam finally admits the truth, he shifts the blame to Eve and even to God. “The woman, whom you gave to be with me, she gave the fruit of the tree. And I ate it.” Running from God puts a spouse in the untenable position of trying to justify oneself, which usually results in blaming others. The good news is God wants to justify us freely.
