January 3…

January 3… June 3, 2010

On January 3, 2009 I married my best friend and dear, dear love. We were united as one in the sacrament of matrimony and began our life in Christ together! What an exciting and beautiful winter day it was!

On January 3, 2010, our first wedding anniversary, we spent the day traveling back to our house from visiting my family in Pennsylvania. We ate some leftover wedding cake (do other people do this?), and just relaxed together. Our big celebration would be a few weeks later when we went to Disney World!

And now, for the real purpose of this post, which is to explain how January 3rd has been, is, and will continue to be a very important date in the Fumbles family. You see, the reason for this is because, on January 3, 2011 (give or take a few days) Atticus and I hope very much to welcome OUR BABY into the world!

That’s right dear friends, we are pregnant! I’ve been just bursting to tell you all, but we have waited until now, until we know that everything is going well. I am nine weeks along; we had an ultrasound last week, and the baby measured 8 weeks 1 day exactly, and his/her little heartbeat was so strong at 158 beats per minute! The due date is actually January 3rd!  When the ultrasound nurse showed us the baby (who looked like a jelly bean) and we saw that beautiful heartbeat, I just about lost it for laughing and crying at the same time!

If you’ll recall, when I asked for special prayer intentions before we left for Rome, we had just found out that I was pregnant, and we were excited/terrified/surprised. All those prayers you offered without knowing what for, were for our little jelly bean to grow safe and snug. So I must thank you all so much for your prayers for us!

We conceived this little soul one year and one month from when we lost Michael. I have to believe that this is, purely and simply, the will of God. All of the waiting, the uncertainty, the feelings of helplessness and frustration were all part of this, and I have absolutely learned from it. I can’t help but believe that we will be better parents because we’ve had to wait patiently for this little one to arrive!

I’m going to post more of the story of how we found out and what we’ve been doing since then soon!
