7 Quick Takes Friday

My husband (the Lawyer) and I are participating in the 40 Days for Life vigil here in Indianapolis this fall. 40 Days for Life is an international campaign of prayer and fasting to end abortion.

Basically, each city that participates has a 40 day vigil (from 7am – 7pm each day) outside of an abortion facility. The vigil includes both private and corporate prayer. Jesus said in the Gospel that some demons can only be driven out with prayer and fasting — abortion is one of them.

Please check out their website and see if it is going on in your city! You can spend ten minutes, an hour, or five!

I’m trying to come up with a good nickname for my husband here on the blog. I could call him The Lawyer, since that is his job. But that is sort of boring. I could call him Atticus (as in Finch, the lawyer-hero from To Kill A Mockingbird). Or I could call him Mr. Darcy, since when I met him, his personality reminded me of the famous Fitzwilliam, just a bit.

This obviously needs some serious consideration. 🙂

For the last few days I have woken up with a sore throat that mostly goes away during the day, but not entirely. I do not have any other cold/flu/H1N1 symptoms, so I think I am ok. Please God. The last thing I need right now is Swine Flu — I will never finish my thesis.

Husband and I are going to visit his parents this weekend in West Lafayette — that’s right, Purdue country! We are going there to watch Notre Dame kick Purdue’s big boilermaker behind at Ross-Ade stadium.

(He didn’t actually say this, but how cool would that be??)

Our dog, Sirius, is I think, insane. He likes to run from one end of the house to the other, back and forth, for like fifteen minutes straight, for no reason at all. I guess maybe he wants to run, but since it’s been raining for four days straight, he doesn’t want to go outside. Neither do I.
