I heard a song the other day on the radio, and it was so good, so good, I had to stop everything just to listen to it. It’s one of the most beautifully written songs I’ve heard in so very long.
It’s all about authenticity. Being real with God and with each other. It’s ok to not be perfect. It’s ok to not have it all figured out. It’s ok to turn to God and ask “why me?” or “why not me?” or “how will this ever be good again?” or “I can’t hold on much longer!” or any of the million questions we might have for Him sometimes. It’s all ok. To God, it’s all music. He wants nothing more or less than ALL of us, and that includes the stuff we’d rather not show anyone. It’s really pretty liberating when you stop long enough to think on it.
You can bet I’ll be thinking on it while I sip a cappuccino in a sun-drenched piazza somewhere in Rome.
