Conservative pundit George Will had Barack Obama over for dinner, along with other conservatives David Brooks, Charles Krauthammer, Larry Kudlow, Rich Lowry, Bill Kristol, and possibly others. See this for liberal reaction.
I’ve been tormenting my very-Democratic brother by insisting that Barack Obama’s election was really an operation of the vast right wing conspiracy, that we conservatives have groomed him from his earliest days, even getting him to infiltrate with the Bill Ayers of the world to make him acceptable to Democrats, and that now that we have co-opted the left and got our operative elected, the Christian right will rule the world! I’ll use this as evidence.
Isn’t this reason to think that Obama means what he says in trying to reach out to the opposition, unify the nation, and build a post-partisan approach to government? Or is he just trying to co-opt conservatives, and, if so, do you think he will be successful?
