Luther on Natural Law

In answer to an issue that came up on yesterday’s very helpful discussion on the first use of the Law: Luther said that the only part of the Mosaic Law still binding on Christians is that which agrees with natural law.

What are the implications of that statement? Can someone explain what natural law is and how we can know it?
