The University of Virginia is a pretty good school, with strong academics. But its educational standards are interfering with its football ambitions. UVA had one of the top recruiting classes a few years ago, but a number of the recruits couldn’t get admitted to the university. Others flunked out or were put on academic probation. One one player in that class was on the team four years later. Other key players, including the quarterback, couldn’t cut it academically. To add to the unfairness and oppression of college athletes, UVA doesn’t have the easy majors that football players tend to take, no P.E., sports management, or communications. No wonder the football team is 28-26 over the last four years! This is a university that needs to get its priorities straight!
