Death of a Reader

Death of a Reader 2022-06-20T08:28:41-04:00

Friends, I just heard from his wife that Todd Stadler has died.  He was a reader and commenter, known here by his handle “tODD,” who was with me from the very beginning of my blogging.  Many of you will remember him for his sometimes acerbic but always insightful comments.  He even helped me with the technical side of this blog before I moved over to Patheos.

His wife told me that he had been struggling for the last four years with cancer, and that he finally “was called to glory.”  I had no idea he was going through that.  I remember someone commenting recently that they hadn’t heard from him for awhile–he was probably going through a difficult time–but then he started commenting again as if nothing had happened.

I never met Todd in person.  I did run into his parents at a speaking engagement I had once in Texas!  But I felt like I knew him, just through this blog.

I appreciate all of you readers, who have lives and struggles that I and the rest of us don’t know about.  I’ll pray for you all.  And say a prayer of thanksgiving for Todd and ask that his family be comforted with the hope of the resurrection.
