Obstruct Trump’s Anti-Life Agenda

When the unclean spirit has gone out of a man, he passes through waterless places seeking rest, but he finds none. Then he says, `I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. Then he goes and brings with him seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first. So shall it be also with this evil generation (Matt. 12:43-5 RSV).

Donald Trump, who apparently did not see it fit to put up a pro-life policy position on his campaign website, has indicated how much he desires to deal with abortion in the next hundred days: not at all.

Do not worry.

Life issues and concerns are on his agenda! Look at what he has proposed: http://www.npr.org/2016/11/09/501451368/here-is-what-donald-trump-wants-to-do-in-his-first-100-days

Trump shows his concerns are not pro-life. Instead, he is willing to bring back all the demons of the past which seek to belittle the image of God in all of us. The United States is responsible for the harm caused by its policies, but instead of dealing with such responsibility, Donald Trump plans to ignore it, to ignore the consequences of our actions, and so to allow great destruction of the human person to happen on a global scale. We see in his policies the denigration of human life, the willingness to see innocents slaughtered, have medical care refused for the suffering poor and future generations to living an ever-worsening dehumanizing environment.

Those who are willing to send families back to Syria because they cannot be properly “vetted” (easy to deny anyone the right to entry when it is impossible for someone to prove they are not guilty and yet have the burden of proof to rest on themselves, contrary to American jurisprudence) are following the same mentality of those who support abortion of babies not properly “vetted” (i.e., innocents with handicaps, innocents with criminal parents, et. al.). All that is said to justify the exclusion of refugees we helped created can be used on the pre-born, saying they are potential risks for society as well: once it is instilled that such arbitrary means is possible to reject human dignity, its logical conclusion will not stopped.

How many people who are on life-saving drugs thanks to Obamacare are now going to have all their medicine denied them once Obamacare is “repealed”? Again, human lives are now put at risk, and this because a candidate promises to enact policies which are contrary to the dignity of life.

The environmental impact of Trump’s plans will have long term effects on future generations. Pro-life concerns must always be the concern not just for making sure people live, but that they can thrive. When human responsibility to the world is ignored, when stewardship is no longer seen as necessary, the pro-life cause has once again been rejected.

Anything and everything which Donald Trump promotes for the rejection of human dignity must be opposed. Anything less and you allow the demons of abortion to be brought back with abortion itself, and the devastation will last for generations.
