White Jesus is revered and loved
While brown Jesus in a cage is shoved

We grow up with white Jesus
Centuries and generations of white Jesus art
Have convinced us that Christmas is about us
When I, a white guy, look in the mirror I see Jesus
Because that’s what was shown to us
But when I see baby Jesus the refugee
Separated from his family, live on my TV
I can look away and pray about Christmas being saved as Jesus’ day
Because Jesus is white
This is not brown Jesus’ day.
