Review of The Empath’s Oracle by Raven Digitalis (Author), Konstantin Bax (Artist) July 22, 2022

Mr Digitalis’ The Empath’s Oracle deck Is aimed at those who self-identify as both as an empath and as a spiritual person, and feel they need regular guidance and balance. The abstract style of the deck enables each reader to interpret the cards in a totally unique way. The deck is not meant to replace a tarot deck, but rather to complement it.

The deck is absolutely gorgeous – a veritable feast for the eyes. Virtually every card is suitable for framing, preferably after enlargement!

A refreshing feature of this deck is that Mr Digitalis does not claim to have the answers his readers are seeking. What he offers is to hold their hands, gently guiding them to come up with their own conclusions.

“This deck is personal and is deeply interpretive. It doesn’t tell you what to do, nor how to act or behave, but instead lends pieces of insight for you to personally interpret and see how it fits into your life’s current journey.

Each card contains a separate set of wisdom and suggestions uniquely devised for separate empathic dilemmas, circumstances, and reflections. This will help you determine the messages that are being spiritually delivered to you at the time  …  “

Mr Digitalis strives for inclusivity, as the art in the deck portrays individuals of various races, ethnicities, genders, and ages and is painted in an abstract style. This allows the deck to be interpreted differently by each reader so as to receive different messages depending on needs to be learned. The meanings of the cards may vary with time, say month by month.

“Once you’ve formed a relationship with the cards, a natural rhythm will develop and you’ll be able to understand the personal message that any card is delivering at any given point in time.”

The subtle shades of meaning in the cards of The Empath’s Oracle deck varying from reader to reader and from time to time, stand in stark contrast to that of a Tarot deck, which will convey accurate information. While Mr Digitalis leaves the choice of Tarot deck or other form of divination up to the reader, his own preference for Tarot is the Thoth Deck designed by Aleister Crowley and painted by Lady Freda Harris.

Mr Digitalis suggests that the best way of using The Empath’s Oracle deck by an individual is to pull one card every morning, during the time of morning spiritual practice. If reading cards for others, a three-card spread should be used with a “past-present-future” casting. This reading should accompany a Tarot reading or other form of divination. Mr Digitalis advises against reading “reversals” or inverted cards with this deck.

The Empath’s Oracle deck consists of 40 cards covering a very broad spectrum of categories of experiences which all those on a spiritual path will experience in the early stages. By the time paths become specific to the traditions being followed, readers will have a firm foundation to build on.

The Empath’s Oracle deck effectively completes the tool kit for empaths provided by Mr Digitalis. His many years of research, study, and reflection manifest as gentle encouragement which will surely facilitate growth.
