Luke 24: Jesus Is Alive

Luke 24: Jesus Is Alive

The final chapter of Luke’s Gospel provides the only appropriate climax to the story of Jesus. When the women approached the tomb on the morning of third day following His death, angels spoke to them, saying:

“Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7 ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’

Jesus had predicted this occasion; now it had taken place. History had forever been changed. Jesus was alive.

God could have chosen to tell Peter first or any other number of people. Instead, He chose someone whose life had already been changed by Jesus to be the first to begin communicating the good news of the living Christ.

As many churches will declare in unison this Easter season, “He is risen. He is risen indeed.”

Jesus performed many miracles while on earth, but His resurrection was the greatest miracle of all. As a result, all who come to Him can likewise experience new life, now and for eternity.

Jesus is alive.
