2 Peter 1: His Divine Power

2 Peter 1: His Divine Power November 16, 2011

3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.” -2 Peter 1:3-4

God is all-sufficient for our lives. With him, we lack nothing. Why? Peter notes that God’s divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life.

With God, we can escape the corruption of this world and live in harmony with our Creator. Even more, we enjoy the connection of the One who both created us and gave his life for us.

The day’s battles will tell us we lack what is essential–beauty, money, power, fame, influence–yet if our heavenly Father has given us all we need, what else could we lack? All else is momentary and passing. What matters is that we know Christ.
