“There will be no more delay! But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets.” -Revelation 10:6-7
It’s easy to grow impatient with God. When will he return? When will he answer my prayer? We wait and then wait some more, often wondering if God is even still listening.
Yet Scripture promises us that God has not forgotten us. His revealed plan through his prophets will one day take place. The apostle John saw this in a vision in which he heard, “There will be no more delay!”
We may feel God has left us behind, but is behind us, with us, around us, within us, and ahead of us. At the appropriate time, God’s plan will be fulfilled.
If we can trust God’s promises regarding the future of our world, can we not also trust him with the details of our own world today? Let us persist in doing our Father’s will, even in moments when cannot see the end of the story.
