Revelation 16: Just Judgments

Revelation 16: Just Judgments December 22, 2011

“Yes, Lord God Almighty, true and just are your judgments.” -Revelation 16:7

“Stop judging me!” We’ve all heard this phrase thrown around as an accusation. The underlying belief is that no one person knows all of the facts and can perfectly judge a person’s heart or motives.

While this is true to an extent in our limited human experiences, the experience is completely opposite when speaking of God. As Creator and Sustainer of all things, he knows all and therefore he alone can judge perfectly.

Many have questioned why God would judge people, whether now or at the end of time. The simple answer is because he alone can. When our lives are over, he will know the true beliefs of our hearts and deliver his perfect judgment.

That is why it is critical we choose to believe in Jesus as the Messiah now, today. For the believer, this life is preparation for the next. For the unbeliever, this life is as good as it gets.

May we live mindful of our eternal home and the fate of those we encounter each day. Let us gladly and urgently share the hope of Jesus with all who will listen, living out our faith each step along the journey.
