Revelation 7: Salvation Belongs to Our God

Revelation 7: Salvation Belongs to Our God December 9, 2011

“Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” -Revelation 7:10

Leave it to the last book of the Bible to boast about God’s salvation. Our changed lives are really about him. We think we come to Christ and decide to live a new life based on faith. In reality, God calls us, leads us to him, and provides the faith we use to believe. We would simply never come to salvation unless God made a way.

When we realize that our new life in Christ is about him rather than us, it changes everything. We no longer boast in our good deeds, but can only point to the One who works in and through us to show love.

The more I grow in my faith, the more I brag about Jesus rather than me. Mother Teresa of Calcutta was known for saying, “I am a little pencil in the hand of a writing God who is sending a love letter to the world.”

I am not the paper nor the book; I am just a pencil. God is the author, using me as he sees fit to change the story around me.
