“At the Lord’s command through Moses, each was assigned his work and told what to carry.” -Numbers 4:49
God determines our work. While we are often taught we can achieve anything we can believe, God’s Word teaches otherwise. He has a particular plan for our lives that includes every aspect of who we are, including our vocation. We are not typically given direct orders as as Moses was given for the Levites, but we are guided by the Lord toward areas of work that God has designed for our lives.
Rather than seek a new career or launch a new business, our first priority is to seek the Lord. When we hear from him clearly, we find ourselves with greater clarity regarding our work pursuits, both long term, and for the power to fulfill his calling for our lives each moment of each day.
