Before Jesus died, Jesus was the way. If Jesus hadn’t died, Jesus would still be the way. In the midst of his anguish, Jesus chose to die to show us the way. Could Jesus have shown us the way in another way? I think so. No matter what he chose to do, Jesus was and is the way. Jesus didn’t have to die. Jesus did die.
