In 1993, a jury in Harris County convicted Jamie Bruce McCoskey of kidnap and murder of Michael Keith Dwyer. In addition to these crimes, McCoskey was also accused of raping Dwyer’s fiancé. The sentence was death and that sentence is to be carried out in Huntsville, Texas today November 12 at 6pm. I don’t know Jamie Bruce McCoskey. I only know the convictions and evidence that everyone else knows, but I do know God and I know that you can’t love your neighbor as your self while killing them.
Tonight November 12 at 6pm, I will stand on the Denton Square and pray. I will pray because it is wrong to kill, no matter who is doing the killing. I will pray for peace, so that all eyes might be opened and all hearts turned to justice. I will stand with a few friends and pray that the people of the State of Texas discover what it truly means to love your neighbor as your self.
