Pay with Your Hand – what an interesting idea. I came across this article and video about the idea of using the veins in your hand as a unique identifier. Essentially, at a point of sale, they scan your hand and you type in digits from your phone number. Payment is automatically sent to your bank using the information which is tied to your phone. The beauty of the system is that you don’t need to carry your wallet. You don’t need to carry cash. You don’t need to scan using your smartphone. Your hand is your username and your last four digits of your phone number are your password. Unlike other cashless forms of purchase and sale, this is the most secure system to date.

BiYo (formally known as PulseWallet) has developed this technology for commercial use. BiYo has developed a scanner which can be used at any point of sale for any store or restaurant. They are looking for resellers in the United States. You ought to check out their FAQ page, where they even explain palm vein technology (even addressing the possibility of someone using your own severed hand). This new way of paying may take some time for merchants to adjust. In order to go to a cashless society, these kinds of technologies will be necessary.

This technology was bound to come along because it was prophesied in Scripture:

“And he requires everyone—small and great, rich and poor, free and slave—to be given a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark: the beast’s name or the number of his name.” (Revelation 13:16–17, HCSB)
