Call to Worship – The All

This piece began as part of our Beltane ritual in 2008 – I reworked it slightly to serve as the Call to Worship for this morning’s service.

In the time before time, we were one.
All matter, all energy, all potential.
All was one.

Then in a bang we abandoned the bliss of unity
for the love of Creation,
and the creation of Love.

The great singularity became
stars and planets and galaxies.
Life: simple at first,
then expanding into the great dance
of birth and death and birth again.

In this Great Creation we became distinct,
each going our separate way.
But in those special times outside of time,
we remember, we remember:

From All we came,
and to All we shall return.

Come, let us worship together.
