For Veterans Day, the Denton UU Fellowship is collecting a special offering to purchase and ship copies of Bless All Who Serve to service members and chaplains stationed overseas. This pocket-sized book of prayers, readings and songs has become very popular not only with the relatively few UUs in the military, but also with service men and women of other religions and those who never considered themselves religious.
Please consider a donation of $12.50 to cover the cost of a book and shipping. If you like, you can make the donation in honor of a friend or family member who served in the armed forces.
At our November 14 service we’ll read the names of those being honored.
Denton CUUPS will make a donation in honor of James Stevens, a CUUPS member and Navy veteran who died earlier this year.
We may disagree with the way our political leaders make use of our military forces, but as long as there are those who would do us harm, military service is a job that has to be done. Let us always remember to honor those who serve, both now and when these wars are finally over.
