My Second (And Last!) YouTube Video

My Second (And Last!) YouTube Video October 14, 2008

Okay, I’m back. Well. Sort of. I am insofar as yesterday I made another thrilling video of myself … saying stuff … but was prevented from showing it, because for some inexplicable reason YouTube, after my making one video, permanently disabled my account. (??? Oh: you can see my first Very Exciting video here.)

So today I opened a new YouTube account, and can now hoist upon you, poor reader viewer, the video I made yesterday. And here is that bad boy now. I think everyone who sees this will agree that it’s really, really time for me to take some significant time away from … getting out of bed in the morning.

(If you’re seeing this on the front page of my blog—if “Suddenly Christian” is billboarded in black across the top of this page, on which are showing three posts in different columns—then either double-click on the video itself so it’ll fully open up on its YouTube page, or view it fully here on the blog by first clicking on the title of this post, and then clicking on the video. Or, be grateful for the chance to see less of it by watching it from within its skinny, first-page column.)

Well done, John. The dog is a nice touch. You make me laugh and I can see that you crack yourself up as well! I'm looking forward to the next one. Cheers!

  • Hi, Judy. Thanks for the kind words.

You know, actually (if you care), it's not that I crack myself up. It's that I think so much stuff is Actually Funny. It's the IDEA of the thing I'm saying that cracks me up.

Anyway. Never mind. But, yes! Fun!

That DOG cracks me up, for instance. Man. Just floors me.

  • Very enlightening, John….after looking at the still picture of you on the blogsite, I actually saw you moving, laughing hilariously at yourself. Now that is a gift! But perhaps you do need a time of rest…..then again, that is who you are….don't change! Looking forward to the next episode!

  • I am so glad you were able to whip that little dog into shape for his cameo in the video!

    Big floppy ears…teeheeheehee!

  • I think that the dog might have stolen the show, but that's how it goes.

  • Hilarious! I’m happy that you decided to circumvent YouTube’s attempt to boycott you. It would have been a shame to have missed this. I especially liked your in depth analysis on why people like Barack Obama.

  • Kathy

    This made me laugh!

    A lot!

In a good way, I think

  • John, this confirms my diagnoses from my last post that you have a serious case of "Compulsive Blogger Syndrome". Don't you go thinking V-blogging doesn't count! We can see right through you. (well, at least we WOULD, if you'd shave)

Love the dog. Love the plants. Love the fridge.

Looking forward to more of your wacky ramblings to fill up my otherwise boring workday 🙂

  • Random – without definite aim, purpose, method, or adherence to a prior arrangement; in a haphazard way. Yep, that's it! But, that's what made that video so stinkin' funny!

BTW, I will be happy to share my ADD meds with you – but, then again – when I am on those stupid things the creative is just…well, not so random (which usually equates to "not funny")!

Case in point, I did not take the meds yesterday and decided I was going to get online and figure out how to deal with all the clutter in my house. I googled and landed on a test to see if clutter was taking over your life….um, let's just say….that little test turned into a great post for my blog! And, it confirmed what I already knew – clutter is a problem…I mean, I did google how to get rid of clutter…that should have been my first hint there was a problem, right? :0

  • John,

Strangely and sadly, I suppose, you really do make my day with these videos! Love the dog, btw! You should get one!

  • Okay…(works best with hispanic accent)that word "last" does not mean what you think it means. Jeopardy tune playing….what movie was that from?….

You are getting better with practice John. You have a contagious laugh and it really helps to sprinkle lots of silly pointless dialog amidst the "serious as cancer topics!" Loved the pooch cameo! I'll be back for more "last time" offerings of Heeeeeeeeeere's Johnny! 😉

  • Cibola

The plants almost stole the show, except that they don’t have cute little button eyes. Cracked me up!

Now Anita has to start all over with her sackcloth, ashes and Starbucks.

  • So I am thinking I am going to email you this song called ‘5 Cacti’ by some home grown Kiwi lads. It’s all about the Cacti on there window sill and your plants made me think of it. Reckon it’ll crack you up big time 🙂

  • Ok found lyrics and need to share with everyone so here they are, enjoy:

There are five cacti on my window sill

And a bonsai tree, living happily – together

In any kind of weather, they get along

At first I was surprised to see how they were faring

With all those shapes and sizes, you’d think there’d be some staring

But they didn’t seem to mind, that some were much too tall

No condescending looks were cast at those who were still small

Won’t catch these prickly friends of mine comparing shades of green

Or having silly arguments about differences between them

On the whole they’re quite accepting, when all is said and done

They’re a group of individuals reaching out towards the sun

    They get along

NB: Much funnier with the tune but can’t post that here unfortunately. Just google The Lads – Cactis Song and see what you get if you wanna listen 🙂

  • Christine: Great lyrics!

Colleen: I certainly do recognize that line from “The Princess Bride.” I’ve had that book on my bedside for at least 15 years; it’s one of my two or three favorite books EVER. I saw the movie when it first came out, and of course hated it. (Does anyone EVER like a movie made from a book in which they’ve invested utterly?)

Thanks for lovely comments, all; they’re amazingly encouraging and sweet. I read each and every one of them, of course. Really great. I’m blessed, for sure.

  • John,

William Goldman’s book. I knew we had SOMETHING in common. Agree with your assessment and you are getting better.

  • Lucilia

The plants and the “poochie” are so nicely groomed!!! John…you are a riot as always. Can I post you on my facebook??? Huh??? Can I? Hugs and Blessings.
