Discovering your God-Given Gifts
When I was little, I always felt most at home with a paintbrush in my hand or a song in my heart. The arts were where I flourished, where everything seemed effortless. But after high school, I tried to do what everyone said was ‘practical.’ I picked the job, the friends, and even the faith that seemed to fit the world’s idea of a perfect life, all while quietly ignoring what my heart was telling me.
For a long time, people have been told to set aside their natural gifts, to play it safe, and follow the crowd. But now, I see so many writers and creators shining by simply being themselves. The world is changing, and the old rules don’t always apply. My own turning point came when I realized that honoring the gifts God placed inside me was the only way to find absolute joy. Those seeds were planted in each of us for a reason, and when we let them grow, amazing things can happen.
It took me years to see that my creativity was a gift, not something to hide away. I spent so much time that was never meant for me, always trying to fit into boxes I didn’t belong in; it felt awkward and cumbersome. Whether I was at work, at home, or with friends, I tried to blend in as best I could, but inside, my true self was shouting, “Hey, over here! Don’t forget about me!. Finally, after tripping over my own feet more times than I care to admit, I realized that spark had been there all along, quietly waiting for me to come back to it.
Your passion is a divine gift. When you nurture what God has planted in you, you move toward fulfillment and prosperity. Stay open to opportunities, and blessings will follow.
Author, speaker, and Holocaust survivor Esther Jungreis once said, “We have no understanding of the energy that God planted within our souls. Therefore, God has to test us to bring forth those treasures that are buried deep within ourselves and make us unique.” Sometimes we have to go through the trials and tribulations life can bring before we discover what we can really do, but once we know, we are unstoppable.
When I finally decided to stop trying to fit into someone else’s mold and start following my own passions, life felt so much more peaceful, and I finally had the confidence that comes from doing what I was made to do. I’ve written hundreds of articles that make me proud, and more projects are on the way. Best of all, I feel like I’m making a difference, encouraging others to live their best, most authentic lives.
Faith + Hardwork + Passion = Joy and Prosperity
When I was a little girl, I dreamed of becoming a great pianist. I remember plunking the piano keys, trying my best to hammer out a tune one evening, when my father gave me some sage advice. He told me to never let go of my dreams and that I could become anything I wanted. Although my piano playing dreams faded as I grew, Dad’s wise words remained in the back of my mind. I lost sight of them at one point, but they never left me.
Your work should light you up inside. If you find yourself stuck in a job that drains your joy, don’t lose heart. Pour your energy into what makes you come alive, even if it’s just on the weekends for now. With Hashems’ guidance, strong faith, and a little elbow grease, you can build the life you’ve always dreamed of. Hold on to hope and trust in the one-of-a-kind gifts God gave you and abundance will follow.
No matter your age or what life throws at you, it’s never too late to chase your dreams. Don’t give up. Shalom, and Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate!
