He and his team may have lost out on the opportunity to go to a third straight Super Bowl, but as long as Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson stays on the straight and narrow, he can do more good than a lot of people who have multiple championship rings.
The 27-year-old has earned a reputation as an elite player, a great sportsman, a solid citizen and a devout Christian. It’s telling just how hard it is for our aggressively secular media to get over his announcement that he and singer girlfriend Ciara wouldn’t be having sex unless they got married first.
This week, STORM Comics, part of StormFront Publishing, releases “Fame: Russell Wilson,” a comic-book biography of Wilson — and the huge influence of his late father, lawyer Harrison Benjamin Wilson — which follows him through his school years and into the NFL.
It also looks at his faith.
Said writer Michael Frizell (art is by Angelito Amaro Bernuy and Chris Canibano) in the press release:
As a graduate of College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri, I found Russell Wilson’s story particularly compelling due to his unshakable faith, one of the tenets of my education. I believe readers can find inspiration in his love of God and family.
It’s evident that Wilson’s faith has shaped him into the man he is today. Though, like all of us, he’s fallible and makes mistakes, he seems to find comfort in his faith and strong ties to his family. In that, he is a role model.
Print copies of the comic start at $3.99 and can be ordered via www.comicfleamarket.com.
