Registration Is Now Open for the World Meeting of Families November 10, 2014

World Meeting of FamiliesThis afternoon Archbishop Charles Chaput, archbishop of Philadelphia, addressed his brother bishops participating in the USCCB General Assembly, offering updates regarding the World Meeting of Families which is planned for Philadelphia in September 2015.

And with this announcement, he officially opened the Registration for persons who are interested in attending the event, which has as its theme “Love Is Our Mission:  The Family Fully Alive.”  You can register on-line here.

The World Meeting of Families will be held at the Philadelphia Convention Center from September 22-25, 2015.  There will be daily Mass, devotions, keynote addresses and multiple breakout sessions. In all, according to Archbishop Chaput, there will be 73 speakers–including a few of my friends and fellow bloggers here at Patheos.  You can find the bare-bones schedule here, but additional details will be available soon.

Icon - The Holy FamilyAnd here, in case you’ve forgotten, is my earlier article about Neilson Carlin, the artist who created the official icon for the World Meeting of Families, an image of the Holy Family–including Jesus’ grandparents, Anna and Joachim.
