Powerball Winner: “First I’m Going to Pay My Tithes…”

Powerball winner“First I’m going to pay my tithes, because I wouldn’t have none of it if it wasn’t for God.”  Marie Holmes, a 26-year-old single mother who is one of the winners of this week’s $188 million Powerball jackpot, told WECT-TV that she plans to put first things first when deciding how to spend her winnings.

The 26-year-old single mother of four recently quit her jobs at Walmart and McDonald’s in order to care for her children, one of whom has cerebral palsy.

She revealed that she doesn’t play the lottery often.  And the money?  Well, she plans to teach her children that money doesn’t change you, it can help you.  She’s happy that she’ll be able to send them to college.

“I’ve been struggling since I had them, but I wouldn’t trade nothing–because they’re a blessing.  I’m just thankful that I can bless my kids with something that I didn’t have.”

God bless Marie Holmes and her family.  Check out the full video interview at The Blaze.
