“The soul of Adam is brought into being by a breath [Pneuma] in partnership with the Spirit. This breath comes to him from his mother. When his soul and spirit were reunited, he spoke words that the powers cannot comprehend. Because of this, they were jealous of him as they were incapable of experiencing this spiritual union that transcends violence. On the banks of the Jordan, Jesus manifested the Presence of the Kingdom that existed before all things. In this new generation, he manifests as the Son who is anointed, a free man who liberates everyone. Is it permitted to speak of what is hidden? The Father of all that is united with the silence of the woman illuminates everything. He manifested in the Bridal Chamber and his body was born on that day when he was witness to the Union as fruit of the merging of Lover and Beloved. This is how Jesus grounds his disciples in tranquility: he is the harmony in all.” (The Gospel of Philip vs. 80-82)
The mystical language Philip uses to describe the unified reality from which all things arise and in which all things remain interconnected is synonymous with what physicists call the underlying quantum field. Here, both are interchangeable with the idea of Christ where we all live and move and have our being.
In the vocabulary of Valentinian Christianity, Adam does not refer to a single man but to all of humanity itself. It is the archetype of consciousness. The “breath” (pneuma) is the animating frequency of the divine presence, which emerges from the primordial Source or Divine Feminine “Mother” of humanity.
When the soul and the spirit reunite, Adam (Humanity) becomes whole again. The fragmented consciousness awakens as integrated awareness. In quantum terms, this is like moving from the illusion of separation (particles isolated in space) into the deeper recognition of the quantum entangled field, where absolute separation is erased.
The “powers (that) cannot comprehend” are those who remain asleep in the world of duality where hierarchy, violence, control and ego run free. These unawakened ones are bound to the illusion of separation and therefore become jealous to those who awaken to Divine Union. This is another way of saying that higher consciousness destabilizes systems built on dominance and control.
“On the banks of the Jordan, Jesus manifested the Presence of the Kingdom that existed before all things.”
Jesus did not create the Kingdom. He revealed it to us. It has always existed just outside of our sensing. It is the ever-present reality of God’s presence. This Kingdom is not a place. It is a state of awareness rooted in true reality. It is a non-local, all-pervasive quantum field of love without beginning or end, because it exists beyond time and space.
Jesus reveals to us what already always was and is: the Eternal Now; a dimension of reality where the Unified Field of Christ permeates all reality.
The “anointed one” is the Christ. The embodiment of the unified consciousness that dissolves fear and sets all of us free. This freedom is not political. It is ontological. It is a liberation from the illusions of separation, alienation, exile, abomination and shame.
In the quantum sense, Christ embodies the awareness that we are not separate particles of matter struggling for survival or acceptance. We are all expressions of Christ. When we understand this truth, we are set free.
“Is it permitted to speak of what is hidden? The Father of all that is united with the silence of the woman illuminates everything.”
The mystical union of the masculine and feminine archetypes, where the Father (Source) unites with the “silence of the woman” (Wisdom/Sophia) is what illuminates everything. The “silence” here is not absence but awe. It is about a deep well of knowing that is pregnant with possibility beyond expression, where consciousness awakens to itself.
“He manifested in the Bridal Chamber, and his body was born on that day when he was witness to the Union as fruit of the merging of Lover and Beloved.”
The Bridal Chamber, once again, is the central sacrament of Philip’s Gospel. It is a recurring symbol for the complete integration of Humanity and Divinity. It is a return to the original wholeness where the Lover (God) and the Beloved (Humanity) are inseparable and complete as One.
This “birth” is not biological. It is spiritual. It is the emergence of a new Humanity that is filled with the Christ consciousness so it can see the reality of Oneness and dwell in complete Unity with everything.
This is the moment when the observer realizes they are not external to the Universe but an expression of the same unified field. In this Bridal Chamber, the experiential insight that All is One overwhelms the illusion of separation as Love – the binding energy that holds the fabric of reality together – is fully expressed.
“This is how Jesus grounds his disciples in tranquility: he is the harmony in all.”
Tranquility is what arises when one experiences reality as interconnected and unfragmented. Jesus grounds us by revealing the deep harmony already present in everything. He points us back to the quantum/mystical Christ field that permeates all creation.
If we live in this awakening, we are free from the powers that dominate the World. Fear, violence and domination have no hold over us.
As we move from fragmentation to union, we realize that Christ is more than a historical figure that appeared to us two thousand years ago, but is, in truth, the Unified Field of Divine Love that is the quantum ground of all being that awakens humanity to our true nature.
There is only one reality, and it is love.
There is only one truth, and it is oneness.
There is only one Christ, and it is all of us.
