A New Season Brings New Life

A New Season Brings New Life September 24, 2019

On a completely different note, today is the birthday of my newest book! Co-authored, of course, by Dr. Sue Edwards, professor at Dallas Seminary, Organic Ministry to Women is a manual on why and how to create/maintain a flourishing ministry to women. It takes our very first book, published in 2002, into 2019 and beyond. We expanded, cut, updated, elaborated … keeping the core message that heart transformation starts with ingesting orthodox Bible teaching.

Are you a pastor? A Women’s Pastor/Director? A Bible teacher, missionary, life group/Sunday school teacher? Retreat coordinator? Do you have a desire to lead women into deeper discipleship with Jesus? This resource, in its earlier iteration, has proven its usefulness on an academic level, as a textbook in seminaries, and a practical level, for those in active ministry. In fact, knowing that it continued to sell after 15 years is what prompted us to update it. So many things have changed over the last decade and a half: women face different challenges, society emphasizes new issues, and practices morph along with technology. But the Bible remains a timeless source of heart transformation.

A few endorsements:

“As a mentor of young women both in the corporate world and the church, I’ve discipled women in a variety of settings—the local coffee shop, the boardroom, my kitchen table, via video chat from the USA to Mexico, and the typical Sunday school classroom. Except for the latter, how I minister looks nothing like how my grandmother did women’s ministry. The postmodern woman no longer fits into a simple and neat, descriptive box. She juggles more than her predecessors and craves (demands) authenticity. Organic Ministry to Women is a much-needed resource helping pastoral leaders transform their methods of discipleship from the antiquated ways of their youth to what’s relevant and needed for the postmodern woman today. When we, as pastoral leaders, realize we need to do the changing, we adopt the same attitude as the Apostle Paul, ‘I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some.’ (1 Cor. 9:22 NLT)”

“Sue and Kelley bring timeless practices mixed with the heartbeat of the most effective ways to reach women in today’s world. Whether you’re answering the call to minister to women for the first time or have been leading for several years, Organic Ministry to Women will remind you why you said yes in the first place and fuel you to keep going. Get ready for practical steps that spark freedom to create and cultivate Spirit-led ministry that transforms lives within your reach.”
