Melania Trump Gets a Soft Pass

Melania Trump Gets a Soft Pass November 4, 2016

MelaniaTrumpMelania Trump gave a rare political speech yesterday. She delivered it in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, in defense of her husband, Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for U.S. president. He is running against Hilary Clinton, the Democratic nominee.

With Election Day only four days away, Melania said in her speech, “Our culture has gotten to mean and too rough.” She says if she becomes First Lady, she will work to end “bullying” among children. How about among adults, starting with her husband Donald Trump?

Mrs. Trump got a soft pass from much of the media about this speech, but not from CNN. Donald Trump is the main reason voters are getting so disgusted with the extreme, unprecedented rhetoric being exercised in this presidential election. Trump, who has never served in political office, has really been mean in this political campaign, calling Mrs. Clinton–a former First Lady, a U.S. Senator from New York, and U.S. Secretary of State–a “criminal.” He stirred up his voters at rallies by saying should should be locked up in prison. For the past few months, crowds at Donald Trump’s political rallies constantly have chanted concerning Hilary Clinton, “Lock her up.” Many of us voters therefore  can’t wait for this election process to end.

Melania needed, first of all, to be preaching her ethic to The Donald. She probably has been doing that in private. But her remarks along this line, yesterday, appeared hypocritical if you associate her with her husband as “one flesh,” as Jesus taught about marriage.
